Talks and Events

  • 7 things I learnt in E.G.C. - May 2016 e.v. marks 9 years since my debut as the Priestess in the Gnostic Mass. It’s good time to look back and reflect on what I got and what I learnt during my training in Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica. You are warmly invited to join me on this very personal journey with and through the ecclesiastical arm of O.T.O. Bring open mind, good mood and perhaps a bottle of beer for toast afterwards ;) - Sr. Ania Orzech

  • Auction night – Bring your special items and offer them on the very exciting event filled with surprises and fraternal competition, an Auction night.

  • Ceremony of the Breaking of Bread - This ritual, based on Jules Doinel’s liturgy, will offer an insight into beginnings of formulation of the modern gnostic revival and foundations of E.G.C. The energetics of the ceremony will be adjusted to the requirements of the New Æon and will incorporate incantations from the Holy Books of Thelema. - Br. Krzysztof Azarewicz

  • Eucharistic rituals in theory - The gnostic mass is the central ritual for private and public celebrations in the OTO, and concludes with the eucharist. This has also been a central conclusion in various forms in other rituals, as seen for instance in the equinox ritual of the Golden Dawn. Tau Merlin will in this workshop look at the theory behind some of eucharistic rites, to see what we can learn from them, and perhaps integrate in our own daily practise. We will look at examples of the material base used in the rituals, and perhaps even touch briefly upon similarities with sigils and talismanic magic. The workshop will also serve as an introduction to the practical ritual later during the OTOK week referred to as the fire ritual. - Br. Bjorn Loken

  • Fire Ritual The Eucharist is the high-light of the gnostic mass. It is a highly specialized form of the Eucharist, some would even say it exemplifies the highest form of the Eucharist. The science and magic behind this is worthy of studies. In this little workshop we will break down the theory of Eucharistic rites, look at examples, and conclude with a celebration on our own. The ritual takes form of a classic Thelemic pentagram ritual, with a few changes. The modifications show how to adapt known rituals and make them suitable for other purposes. In this case the framework is based upon the rather versatile Liber Samekh, with elements of Enochian magic, and a light sprinkling of the Bartzabel evocation on top. We will invoke the elements into a suitable vessel, light it on fire as an offering, and partake thereof as a sacrament. - Sr. Ania, Br. Bjorn and Sr. Vera

  • Gnostic Mass - O.T.O. Macedonia

  • Hatha Yoga (Daily)-   principles of hatha yoga are very simple, yet unforgiving for many students. Here we will explore our physical bodies and its boundaries. In accord with principles of somatic psychology, general sports sciences and ancient traditions, we will tune into our bodies and willfully bring its systems to balance which is basis of our Great Work. - Br. Marino Babić

  • Honour Through Renunciation: an Overview of the Man of Earth Delegate Program of U.S. Grand Lodge. "In order that the feelings of the general body may be represented, the Men of Earth choose four persons, two men and two women, from among themselves, to stand continually before the face of the Supreme and Holy King, serving him day and night. These persons must not be of higher rank than the Second Degree; they must volunteer for this service at the conclusion of that ceremony; and therefore they give up their own prospect of advancement in the Order for one year, that they may serve their fellows. This is then the first lesson in our great principle, the attainment of honour through renunciation." -Liber CXCIV. Volunteer representatives of the Man of Earth Triad to the Supreme and Holy King are a constitutional part of our Order. Within U.S. Grand Lodge of Ordo Templi Orientis, these representatives are called Man of Earth Delegates. In this talk, we'll discuss a brief history of the Man of Earth Delegate Program in USGL, plus; The nature and function of the Delegates with reference to Liber CXCIV; The role of the Supreme and Holy King in the program; Some qualities that make a good Delegate; How Delegates volunteer and are selected, including an overview of the USGL Man of Earth Delegate Nominating Panel; Notable differences between the USGL and UKGL Man of Earth Programs; This talk will be of interest to members of any Degree, Grand Lodge, or jurisdiction, and of special interest to officers, initiators, and Man of Earth initiates. - Sr. Jessica Darling

  • How to rightly perform rituals with joy & beauty - Deacon Workshop -In the commentary to Liber AL II:35 Aleister Crowley wrote: "Let us be practical persons, not babblers of gossip and platitude. A ritual is not a melancholy formality; it is a Sacrament, a Dance, a Commemoration of the Universe." In this workshop we will examine the role of a Deacon in the Gnostic Mass. We will look into different kinds of mistakes that could possibly happen in the ritual and offer practical solutions how to avoid them. We will also discuss different ways of rising standards of our performance, so that the ritual could be rightly performed with joy and beauty. - Br. Krzysztof Azarewicz

  • Of the Officers of the Mass All the Gnostic Mass officers surely remember the time before their first Mass. Apart from learning our roles and trying to harness the stress level, we also tried to get our heads around what we will actually wear at the Mass (and no, it’s not only the domain of women!). This has lead us to read carefully the description of the officer’s vestment in Liber XV and apply it accordingly. In this talk, Ania will discuss theory and practice regarding the vestment of the Gnostic Mass officers, explaining its symbolism, showing practical solutions for officers-to-be, and looking at the East Orthodox traditions which inspired Crowley to write the Mass. - Sr. Ania Orzech

  • Oswald Wirth’s Tarot Qabbalistique - Oswald Wirth (1860–1943) painted his Tarot Qabbalistique in order to fulfil a dream of Éliphas Lévi to create symbolically and artistically perfect Tarot deck. Wirth’s Tarot is the very first occult deck designed not for the divination but to serve as an encyclopaedia of the Western Mystery Tradition. Aleister Crowley acquired it in 1906, a year before receiving Liber Arcanorum, a holy book of Thelema based on Tarot symbolism. In this richly illustrated talk, Krzysztof will discuss uniqueness of this deck and influences it had on Thoth Tarot. - Br. Krzysztof Azarewicz

  • Progressive Meditation (Daily) - meditation practice has been a part of the OTOK programme from its first incarnation. Every morning we sit in silence practicing concentration and awareness practices. The meditation will be guided and will combine knowledge and techniques of the finest non-dual traditions. This meditation, together with Yoga practice, is practiced weekly by members of Perun Lodge in a form of a publicly opened workshop. - Br. Marko Varat

  • The economy of the Gnostic Mass - The lecture will focus on the essence from a standpoint of the economy of magick dealing mainly with the inputs and outputs, the capital investments of the individual and the core factors that contribute towards a successful establishment of this central Ritual. The lecture will also briefly touch upon the benefits incurred by the work and service as an Officer in the Gnostic Mass (from a subjective stance) and reflect on the personal improvement in balance with the individual effort put into these matters. - Sr. Vera Nikolić

  • The Gnostic Thelemic Sacraments - An exploration of the reformulated sacraments present in the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica. Learn about the history of the seven Catholic sacraments, how they manifest in the Gnostic Church, and how they may have been reformulated by Crowley for use in EGC. – Br. David Hill

  • The Great Schism of Our Time (Science vs. Religion) - There is something that we may (for the sake of convenience) call "a religious instinct", which in some, or probably most people is equally strong as the sexual one. Repressing or suppressing either one of these instincts instead of working with them, to see where they lead us, may result in some definite dangers. The social function of the religious instinct is what protects us from being swept away into mass-mindedness and keeps us from falling into collectivism of totalitarian governments. This in turn furthers the health of our society and our enjoyment of its community life, enabling us to develop sustainable relationships with each other. One individual, having a sense of being a person who matters, combats at a depth level any loss of confidence or hope that the Party/State will *somehow* facilitate an environment where we can all thrive. The O.T.O. works with both of these instincts, religious and sexual, on occasions even at the same time, for example in Liber XV  - The Gnostic Mass. - Br. Stojan Nikolić

  • Where the Earth and Heaven meet. “Greeting of earth and heaven” is one of the very first phrases spoken in the Gnostic Mass. In this short lecture Krzysztof will offer an exegesis and magical implication of that sentence. His argumentation will be based on Aleister Crowley’s interpretation of trigrams of the I Ching. - Br. Krzysztof Azarewicz
